Since its introduction in 1996, Flash technology has become a popular method for adding animation and interactivity to web pages; to create animation, advertisements, web page components and forms, and to integrate video into web pages.
More recently the use of Flash has been expanded into the area of cd-rom authoring. Flash has now overtaken traditional products such as Director, especially since Adobe bought out Macromedia (Flash's creators) in 2006.
The significance of this is that most professional web development and multimedia companies use Adobe products such as Acrobat and Photoshop for the design work that goes into web sites and cd-roms.
When Adobe purchased Macromedia, it began to integrate all these products together, and developed Flash further as a program which can be used as an authoring product for multiple media formats.
With its sophisticated video development and production tools, support for high-quality compression of video and audio files, Flash is the perfect tool for providing interactive, innovative highlights to web sites, cd-roms and other promotional media.
Plus our use of Flash's inherent progressive download technology allows us to publish multimedia presentations with full audio and video capabilities on the Web - via our Powerpack service.
Here's a list of the ways in which we use Flash to develop for our clients...
